Sacraments are sacred, visible signs of God's loving grace and presence to humanity.  The Roman Catholic community honors seven ritual sacraments:  baptism, confirmation, Eucharist, reconciliation, matrimony, holy orders and anointing of the sick.  Through the sacraments, we are given actions of a people at prayer, ways in which the church gathers before God, celebrating a variety of activities born of a relationship with God.

BAPTISM

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19

Through Baptism we become members of the Body of Christ.  This Sacrament signifies our immersion in the Christian life. For those interested in scheduling an infant Baptism, please contact the church office at 373-4696.  For adult Baptism and the RCIA process, please contact Janis Lovecchio at 373-4351 or janis.lovecchio@holyfamilycc.com.

MATRIMONY

"So they are no longer two, but one flesh.  Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." Matthew 19:6

Matrimony joins two people in marriage for a lifetime of dedication to each other, to their children, and to the community.  For more information on the process to prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony, please contact the church office at 373-4696.

EUCHARIST

"Do this in remembrance of me" Luke 22:19

Eucharist celebrates our life together as community, the presence of Christ in our midst, the Word that is proclaimed and explained.  We celebrate our unity with Christ in communion and service.  For more information on the process to prepare for 1st Eucharist,  please contact Catherine Birdwell at

RECONCILIATION

"If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any,
they are retained."
John 20:23

Reconciliation celebrates and reminds us of God's mercy and helps us to experience divine forgiveness, to forgive ourselves and to become reconciled with others.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated every Saturday from 4:30 until 5:00 PM or by appointment.  For more information on the process to prepare for 1st Reconciliation, please contact Catherine Birdwell at 373-4351 or catherine.birdwell@holyfamilycc.com.

CONFIRMATION

"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit..."Acts 2:4

Confirmation seals our Baptism and confirms our commitment both to the Church and to the work of Christ in the world. For more information on the process to prepare for Confirmation, please contact Catherine Birdwell at 373-4351 or catherine.birdwell@holyfamilycc.com .

HOLY ORDERS

"And he appointed twelve, whom he also named apostles, to be with him, and to be sent out to proclaim the message..."  Mark 3:14

Ordination integrates men into the holy orders of bishops, priests and deacons, empowering them for a lifetime of leadership and service in the Church.  For more information regarding the process to prepare for this sacrament, please contact Tom Samoray, Director of Vocation Awareness and Young Adult Ministry at Tsamoray@nashvillepriest.com. ANOINTING OF THE SICK

"Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord."  James 5:14

Anointing of the Sick celebrates and reminds us of God's compassion and helps us to experience spiritual and sometimes physical strengthening when we are ill.  If you or someone you know are in need of this sacrament, please call the church office at 373-4696.
