Job Summary:

The high school and middle school aged youth living within the parish boundaries of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brentwood, TN are to grow as disciples of the Lord Jesus by 1) having profound, personal, and life-changing encounters with the Lord 2) being formed to live in communion with the Universal Church 3) having a commitment to holiness and being transformed into the image and likeness of Christ Jesus 4) taking up the fullness of the Church’s mission of reconciling all things in Christ Jesus. The next Associate Director of Life Teen will invite teens into such discipleship. This is a full-time, salaried position with competitive compensation and benefits package.


Holy Family Catholic Church is located in Brentwood, TN and part of the Nashville metropolitan area. The parish reflects the dynamism of the city itself. We are centered on Christ Jesus. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Live the great commission found in Matthew 28:19-20 by actively bringing the gospel to each young person in the parish
  • Have evangelization as the primary mission
  • Be a visible presence in the area schools and extracurricular events
  • Develop evangelistic outreach to serve those not currently involved in programs
  • Develop creative ways to minister to teens away from the parish’s campus
  • Serve alongside the Director of Youth Ministry
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and sustaining a core team of adult volunteers
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and sustaining youth leaders
  • Assist with weekly, large group Life Nights in the Life Teen program
  • Assist with weekly Bible study
  • Assist with developing parish sponsored retreats
  • Provide opportunities for teens to participate through the Diocese of Nashville
  • Accompany teens in experiencing the national and international Church
  • Help teens to grow in their personal prayer life
  • Form teens in their Catholic identity
  • Challenge teens to grow in holiness
  • Provide opportunities for teens to serve the marginalized and to take up the Church’s mission
  • To bring laughter, joy, and hope to teens
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Youth Ministry, the Coordinator for Middle School Programming, and other members of the parish staff


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Be a deeply committed Catholic whose own life has been made new through an encounter with the Lord
  • Be articulate about the Catholic faith in way that brings its relevance to the real needs of today’s teens
  • Possess 2-4 years of experience in youth ministry
  • Be familiar with the national landscape of Catholic youth ministry
  • Possess energy and passion for bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to teens
  • Ability to work within the structure a larger pastoral team and receive guidance and mentorship
  • Working knowledge of effective communication with teens, including the use of social media
  • A person of joy
